[Eeglablist] Annotations in .CNT

When I record a continuous EEG .cnt file with Acquire on our Neuroscan, 
I can enter annotations online, e.g. 'snoring' or 'sneeze'. 
I want to access these annotations through Matlab (or better EEGLAB). 
Does anyone know how this can be done? 

I do have access to the event-table, 
but events are more complicated to enter into the .cnt file online.
