[Eeglablist] EOG correction

Hi Elena,

Obviously, you know far more about the EEG than I do. My own research stems from my Graduate Thesis I wrote many years ago , titled Brain Engineering System.
One of my points of research was inspired by reading a report by two scientists who were interested in the ability of Salamanders to regrow limba that had been accidently lost. They first found the mmune System voltage of a Salamander before, and after removal of the front leg. Immediately after removall ,the voltage changed from 12+MV DC, dropping to 12-MV , then slowly changing to 0 voltage and switching to + as the limb slowly regrew to full size and to again attain 12+MV. Being medical doctors they immediately thought the brain system of the animal would be similar ro rhat of a human. In their experiment, they used a 1.5 volt dry cell with a transiterized hook up to reduce its voltage to 12+MV. They then removed the front leg of another Salamander, and connected the + lead to the connection to their three legged subject. the positive Dc 12Mv application causeda regrowth that could easilly be observed, and the leg regrowth was comp;eted in less than one third the time.
These scientists being doctors did not take into account the tremendous difference in compexity of the human brain over that of the animal. From what they wrote, they had no idea that the human brain was controlled by a frequency system that was more complex than any power house generating system built by humans to control
power.
From what I was able to learn, using a Nolan Mindset 24 with an Easy Cap the voltages on my Fluke 45 Multimeter show Frequency Modulated Peak-to-Peak Voltages similar to those of a radio transmitter. This accounts for the huge number of signals used to control the brain's ability to think and co-ordinate our movements. The Immune system Peak-to-Peak voltage is reported to be 52MV when at about age nineteen to twenty-four. After that it gradually drops off as we age. As I am 86 years of age, I have no way of determining where my cap electrode should be placed to determine this. I have a granddaughter who is nineteen, and I am tempted to recruit her into allowing me to find the spot on the Easy Cap where 52 MV will show up, and sheck my scalp at the same position, for the volltage, Do yoou know of another way for me to measure my Immune System Voltage?
I am sorry that I cannot help you with your problem, but I am wondering if you may help me with mine.
Have a wonderful New Year, and best of luck in your search.

  Hi,

I want to use ICA for correction of eye movement artefacts in the EEG of small children.

It is not always possible to put EOG electrodes on them (especially for VEOG).

Is it possible to extract EOG ICA components without analyzing VEOG and HEOG channels?

  Thanks in advance,

  Elena
