[Eeglablist] virtual keyboard question

Dear sir,

I am not exactly sure what you mean by a virtual keyobard. I believe you are
asking about a brain computer interface, an application to allow users to
spell with brain activity. If this is the case, I recommend the following:

Farwell and Donchin 1988
Donchin et al. 2000
Bayliss' PhD thesis (2001)
my PhD thesis (2003).

The first two studies compare different pattern recognition approaches with
a virtual keyboard. The Bayliss thesis actually uses ICA in a BCI. My thesis
explored ICA for P300 data acquired in a "virtual keyboard" study but did
not apply this online. Bayliss' thesis does not use a virtual keyboard, but
uses a comparable application. She did apply ICA online and found it
helpful.

I do not know of anyone who has ever used Hidden Markov Models with a
virtual keyboard. I am starting a data analysis competition soon that
includes the same P300 virtual keyboard data in my thesis. You are welcome
to participate, I would love to see how HMM's do with P300 data.

best,
Brendan Allison

hi.. i have research about classification EEG using
Hidden Markov Model, and i want to try make of virtual
keyboard (application BCI) in Indonesia, but i want
theory and model reasearch about this.

thanks...
