[Eeglablist] squaring ITC

EEGlab users,

In the timef.m code, the final ITC values are obtained by taking the 
absolute value of the coherence vector on line 1083:

R = abs(R); % convert coherence vector

This seems consistent with the Tallon-Baudry method of obtaining a 
phase-locking factor and makes sense, but would you ever square that vector 
instead of taking the absolute value or square it after taking the absolute 
value?
