At the University in Magdeburg (Department of Biological
Psychology / Faculty of Natural Sciences), the following position is
available for a period of 4 years:

Postdoc position in neuronal modelling of cognitive processes

Job prerequisites are a PhD in Psychology, Biology, Physics, Electrical
Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar natural science major.
Furthermore, skills in at least one programming language, in modeling
artificial neural networks (preferably spiking neurons), as well as in
neurophysiology, are necessary.

Responsibilities involve modelling cognitive processes in an artificial
neural network for electrophysiological data simulation.  The project
is integrated in an interdisciplinary group consisting of
psychologists, biologists, and neurologists. Within the cooperative project,
electrophysiological activity will be recorded in humans and animals
and hemodynamic brain responses to auditory stimulati will be
measured. For these purposes, several functional magnetic resonance
scanners, a magnetoencephalograph, and several electroencephalographs
are available at the University of Magdeburg.
