[Eeglablist] Baseline recording..

Dear all,

We are trying to estimate the amount of noise/artifact/electrical interference present in our EEG/ERP lab which would help us determine the exact sources of these artifacts.

As a test, we did a " 3 electrodes in a bucket of water test" where we had one recording electrode, one reference electrode and a ground electrode placed in a bucket of tap water. The ideal recorded data is assumed to be a flat line, instead we saw very high frequency noises, very prominent 60 Hz and others unknown artifacts. The frequency spectrum showed few small peaks at 20, 30 Hz and huge peaks at ~60Hz.

We would like to compare our results with some kind of baseline data(may be something similar to what we recorded) collected from other labs(shielded or unshielded). That would actually make us take some decisions in shielding our lab, change the electrical sources or may be changes the physical location of our lab. so we would really appreciate if any body could help us in this regard in sending such baseline data collected in their lab. Of course we could exchange data and compare our results.

Any kind of information or help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Balaji
