Job opening: Postdoctoral research fellow in cognitive neuroscience at the University of Durham, UK.

A postdoctoral research position funded by the BBSRC is available at the department of Psychology of the University of Durham for 18 months (full-time). The postholder will be expected to join a programme of research investigating how emotions modulate human memory. The main emphasis will be on EEG/ERP techniques, but the postholder will also work with fMRI. There will also be the possibility to work with other neuroscience techniques, depending on the research interests of the postholder. The postholder will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities (high-density EEG, fMRI, TMS, Eye-tracker and other psychophysiological techniques), and will have the opportunity to develop independent research ideas. Candidates will be expected to hold a PhD (or to be in the process of obtaining it) in a relevant area, and able to demonstrate a strong research potential. Prior experience with EEG/ERP and other functional imaging techniques is desirable. However, training in these techniques will be available if needed. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate a strong interest in human memory and emotion-cognition interactions. The post is available immediately and work should start no later than January 2012.
Salary will be within the University Grade 7: £29,972 to £35,788 p.a in GBP (Approximately U$50,300-U$60,100 or 34,700-41,500 in Euros).
