The  Epilepsy  Center  
(www.uniklinik-­freiburg.de/epilepsie/live/index.html) at  the  
University  Medical  Center Freiburg  (www.uniklinik-­freiburg.de) offers  a
interdisciplinary  PostDoc/PhD  position  related  to  biomedical 
signal  processing  and  technology.

It  is  part  of  the  recently  granted  Cluster  of  Excellence 
"BrainLinks-BrainTools" 
(http://www.brainlinks-braintools.uni-freiburg.de/jobs/duempelmann-phd-postdoc). 


The  development  goal  is  intelligent  devices  for  the treatment  
of  epilepsy  in  an  interdisciplinary  setup.

The  specific  tasks  in  the  project  will  be:

1. Analysis  of  intracranial  long-term  EEG  registrations.

2. Software  implementation  of  established  and  new  pattern 
detection  methods.

3. Optimization  of  algorithms  with  respect  to  early  event 
detection,  complexity  and  energy  consumption.

4. Integration  of  analysis  methods  in  intelligent classificators,

Preferred  platforms  for  software  implementation:  C++,  Matlab

The  position  is  initially  limited  to  one  year  and  may  be 
extended  by  up  to  three  years,  subject  to  funding  and 
continuation  of  the  project.
