<![endif]--><pre style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph"><font style="" face="Tahoma">The Applied Cognitive Neuroscience</font> Laboratory in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Hong Kong, China, is recruiting a <br>candidate to fill a research assistant/associate position to support a clinical trial research titled ˇ§Can Chinese calligraphy <br>writing enhance cognitive performance and emotional calmness in older adults with mild cognitive impairment? An RCT studyˇ¨</pre><pre style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph"> </pre><pre style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph">Our laboratory emphasizes neural processes in various human higher cognitive functions, such as imagery, self-regulation, <br>cross-modal learning and memory strategies. It uses various neuroimaging techniques, such as EEG and NIRS, to investigate <br>underlying neural mechanisms in relation to behavioral performance. Being <span style="mso-fareast-language:ZH-HK">in</span> <span style="mso-fareast-language:
ZH-HK">the</span> Department of Reha<span style="mso-fareast-language:ZH-HK">bilitation Sciences department,<br>the research studies also focus on the clinical applications of the academic knowledge.</span></pre><pre style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph"> </pre><pre style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph">Currently, we are launching a new 3-year project starting June 2012 to study the therapeutic effects of calligraphic therapy in <br>terms of physiological, cognitive and electrophysiological functions. We are looking for a candidate preferably with a Master degree<br>or above, who has a background in biological psychology or neuroscience to support the data collection and analysis phases of the <br>project. The successful candidate would be expected to administer a series of cognitive assessments and experiences using EEG <br>technology with participants who have potential mild cognitive impairment. Those with knowledge and experiences of related software,<br>such as NeuroScan, EEGLab, & MatLab, would have a priority. Good interpersonal skills would be necessary for interacting with <br>participants. The employment term would last for at least two years.
