positions are associated
with the professorship, of which 3 scientist-positions and 1
position for
technical personnel can be staffed upon appointment.
Additionally, the new
professor will have access to an excellent infrastructure, which
is shared by
the other working groups at the institute (Ergonomics, headed by
Prof. Edmund

headed by Prof.

the evolving
„Human-Machine Interaction Lab“ provides the opportunity to
simulate various
working environments and to investigate participants by numerous
measures such
as EEG, EMG, NIRS or motion tracking. For all these measurements
the institute
also possesses mobile equipment. Additionally, the basics for
virtual reality
and driving simulators of different complexity are available.
Other resources
include confocal and multi-photon laser scanning microscopes,
LC-MS,
multi-laser FACS analyzer and sorter, fluorescence time-lapse
video microscopy,
calcium imaging, cell culture facilities, including biosafety

for a successful application are excellent research activities

research and an
outstanding publication record are the most important criteria,
the candidate
should provide a concept how such basic research could be
translated and
applied to the mission of our institute (occupational research).
Ideally, such
a concept would highlight possible connections to other
disciplines present at
our institute such as ergonomics, toxicology/cell biology and/or
immunology. Applicants
who are mostly focused on basic research should not be
discouraged by these
specifications. It is our experience with previous appointments
that with the
help of the generous institutional support basic researchers can
successfully
establish additional applied research projects. If you are

possible application of your line of research to the

you have any questions about the focus of our institute, please
