Sorry that the documentation is scarce, this is one of a few extensions that I am trying to prepare for the EEGLAB extension manager (I just could not help but pre-release it when I saw your message!). For now I have posted an interpmont demo video

The channels in the coordinate file do not need to be the same as the currently loaded chanlocs structure... they also do not need to sit on the same surface as you will see in the demo.<br>
<br>
I typically use this extension for warping the chanlocs structure or interpolating an average reference site. What you are asking for, I usually only use for exporting a study set's worth of ERPs (to sLORETA for example). So keep an eye on it (as there may
still be some quirks [e.g. fiducials may become unaligned with the data...]). Feel free to open "issue" tickets from the github repository if you notice any problems or come across a road block.<br>
