<div dir="ltr">Hi Jacob and Natalie, <div><br></div><div>I am glad to hear binica is able to run on a Windows 7 PC. As the wiki appears to be incorrect on whether it can run on newer versions of windows any extra detail either of you could provide on getting binica to work on windows 7 would be much appreciated.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Following the wiki instructions, I've changed the ICABINARY path to the wiki-downloaded ica.exe. I still can't get binica to run using Makoto's script or the EEGLAB dialog, ICA does run through EEGLAB but it seems to be runica that is implemented not binica as their is no noticable change in decomposition speed </div>
<div><br></div><div>One thing I may be missing is the editing of the <a href="http://ica.sc">ica.sc</a> file. The wiki is vague on what exactly needs to be edited here so I may edited it incorrectly. If necessary, how should the <a href="http://ica.sc">ica.sc</a> be edited in order to get binica to run?</div>

<div dir="ltr">Dear Makoto,<div>From the Wiki BINICA page under the "Download" head, it looks like a recent compiled version (with improved PCA reduction) for Windows isn't available. It goes on to say that the older compiled versions won't run within MATLAB and can't be used with binica.m(). However, one can download those older versions to run them externally. The code you provided to Natalie and her successful efforts to run BINICA (in Win8) suggest that you can actually run BINICA within MATLAB on recent versions of Windows, which is cool! I was wondering if the version Natalie was using is the version from the wiki page or if someone compiled a new one with the provided source code. Natalie mentioned that she inherited the version she's using and doesn't know much about its origins. </div>

Will the older Windows binary work on Windows 7 machines? I'm assuming that Natalie isn't running XP. The only Windows version I know of is on BINICA wiki page. Is there another version that's available? </p>

Hi,<br>
<br>
I have the windows version of BINICA on my C: drive.<br>
<br>
I have verified that the PATH variable contains the path to the file:<br>
C:\NICERLAB\Artifact_removal_code\BinICA<br>
<br>
I have verified that in the eeglab install \functions\sigprocfunc\icadefs.m the ICABINARY variable is properly set:<br>
ICABINARY = 'C:\NICERLAB\Artifact_removal_code\BinICA\ica.exe';<br>
<br>
And yet, after loading a Brain Vision file and then clicking on Tools->Run ICA I do not always get presented with BINICA as an option. I also have FASTICA installed, and it doesn't show up either. This is RANDOM - sometimes I see BINICA in the list, but
more often times, I don't. I cannot pinpoint what is different when it's working vs not.<br>
<br>
Any ideas what could be interfering with EEGLab's ability to display the BINICA or FASTICA option to me?<br>
<br>
Thanks,<br>
-Natalie<br>
