<div dir="ltr">Dear Rachel,<div><br></div><div>These scalp topographies are each IC's fixed projection pattern, which is a visualization of each row of the EEG.icawinv.</div><div><br></div><div>These maps are fixed throughout the recording, do does not change the topographic patterns along with latency (so 'average' is still wrong).</div>
<div><br></div><div>Imagine you sit in a room with 10 radios tuned with 10 different stations and listening to the mixture of them. That's the ICA point of view of EEG. Sometimes one radio may become louder while other one become quieter. These radios never move around in the room, which corresponds to the meaning of 'fixed' map.</div>

I want to understand what is being plotted when I use the GUI to plot ICA components. I ran runica on epoched data and then selected plot > component maps > in 2-D. Are the plots showing weighted EEG data?<br>
Also, are the figures based on an average of all timepoints or just one point in time? If they are based on one point in time, can anyone tell me how this is chosen?<br>
