The CES lab at SCCN uses the --- force plates. The latency of these devices was measured against data acquired from simple accelerometers that were plugged into a BioSemi amplifier. The plate was then kicked repeatedly and the cross-correlation of the BioSemi stream and the force plate stream was calculated using this code.
It was discovered that including a known 5.52ms latency subtracted from the timestamps of the BioSemi device, the force plate data has a tendency of arriving at about 7.32ms later than its moment of acquisition.
