AW: [Eeglablist] ICA and ongoing/spontaneous EEG

Hi Lilach,
we get good results in applying ICA to ongoing EEG. The components we single out are artefacts from eye movements and muscle activity. However, when trying to discriminate between patients and controls, ICA components did not help. So it depends on which question you want to approach.

I would like to apply ICA on data of ongoing/spontaneous EEG which is not related to any event. Would it be appropriate to apply ICA on such data? It is known in the literature that the distribution of the EEG amplitude of ongoing/spontaneous activity is normal (Rafael Elul), and as I understand there is a problem running ICA when the data is Normal.
