ICA is a statistical method with strong theoretical background already 
and currently being applied in countless field of engineering. EEG is 
simply a specific application. Unfortunately, I'm not capable of 
pointing a review paper of applications of ICA, but googling around 
for some applications or demos should give you an idea of what I'm 
talking about.
