Two postgraduate researcher positions are available immediately at the
Swartz Center, Institute for Neural Computation, University of California
San Diego (UCSD) (http://sccn.ucsd.edu) in two areas:

(1) EEG dynamics of normal and abnormal brain development in autism. This
researcher will work with director Makeig and collaborators at UCSD and York
University, Toronto to analyze joint EEG, video, and/or eye gaze data
collected using state-of-the-art one- and two-person EEG, eye tracking,
psychophysiology and video monitoring facilities. This researcher will be
responsible for guiding and managing innovative studies of the neurodynamics
of human development and interperonsal interactions. Follow-on research in
several directions is possible.

(2) Effects of cognitive training on EEG and behavior in normal aging. This
researcher will work with Makeig and collaborators to study changes in EEG
dynamics during attention and learning tasks in normal aging, and the
plasticity of these changes under psychophysical training. This research
will be responsible for guiding and managing innovative EEG studies of the
neurodynamics of human aging and training-related plasticity. Follow-on
basic and/or applied studies are possible.

Qualifications: Background in and/or interest in neuroscience, cognitive
psychology, signal processing, statistics, and experimental design, as well
as ability to write scentific papers are preferred. Applicants should send
(preferably by email) a letter describing their training, related skills,
and research interests. Please include a CV and the names of three
references. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience. Contact:
