Dear Neha,
How about using Pz-reference?
My group use Pz reference, and we re-reference it to average reference.
% Re-reference command line
EEG = pop_reref( EEG, [], 'refstate',-19); (in our lab, 19: Pz ch)
This upper command line is used for re-referencing the whole EEG.
At the moment, I don't remember which paper I'd cited, but there're lots of
paper who use Pz cause it's clear, not contaminated.
Besides, you can run ICA and remove some dominant artifact.
For instance, removing Eye-blinking IC helped for getting datasets with less
artifacts.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Soyoung Kwon
