[Eeglablist] event information from channel and condition list

Hi,
I have successfully loaded an eeg data set into eeglab and have generated event onsets from an eeg data channel where event pulses are recorded. I would additionally like to assign names to these event markers by using a list of event condition types stored in an eprime results file.
So for instance I have 360 event markers drawn from a given channel and now would like to indicate the order of event types.
pulse 1 = condition A
pulse 2 = condition C
pulse 3 = condition B
etc...
So I have first imported event info from a data channel which specifies exact timing of events, then I created a text file in which there is a header labeled 'type' with the order of event conditions listed in column format below it. Is there a way to essentially combine the two methods, i.e., indicate event timing from the data channel, and indicate event condition from the text file? The problem seems to be that eeglab expects a header of at least latency and type, where I would only like to specify type.
It seems this is possible - the closest I could find is essentially a combination of the instruction from section II.2.1 and section II.2.2 of the documentation file, and specifically the note: "Important note about aligning events." So far I have not had any success in doing this.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
