Behavioral and EEG/ERP Studies of Infant Perception and Cognition

CHILD AND FAMILY RESEARCH in the National Institute of Child Health and
Human Development investigates dispositional, experiential, and
environmental factors that contribute to physical, mental, emotional,
and social development in human beings in the first two decades of life.


 

DUTIES: Fellows are expected to take part in an active perception and
cognition laboratory, contributing to study design, data collection,
data analysis, training and supervision of research assistants,
co-authoring publications, and the dissemination of findings.  Ongoing
behavioral work in the development of perception, categorization, and
cognition, as well as eye tracking and brain electrical activity (ERP)
that is associated with perception and cognition.



DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completed doctorate in developmental science
with a specialty in infancy and/or neuroscience, plus strong skills in
instrumentation, methodology, measurement, and statistics.  Additional
skills required include competence in planning and multitasking;
excellent organizational and written and verbal communication; and
ability to work both independently and in collaboration.  Salary and
benefits are competitive.  Appointments are eligible for renewal up to 5
years.
