I am in the process of organizing a group of researchers to implement an
interdepartmental, multi-laboratory EEG facility. I have received product
information and quotes for 128 channel systems from EGI, ANT, and
Neuroscan, and I have requested (and have been waiting a couple of weeks
for) a quote from Cortech Solutions/Biosemi. I would appreciate any
feedback contributors to this list may have about any of these vendors and
their products, positive or negative. Among the features we are interested
in:

*Ease of applying the electrodes

*Ease of learning the acquisition and processing procedures, as many users
will have limited or no previous EEG/ERP experience

*Durability of caps vs. nets (since multiple labs will be using the
facility, it will be difficult to monitor every student who applies the
cap/net)

*Subject comfort (i.e., how much scalp abrasion is necessary?)

*Training/support

*Ability to integrate other modalities (e.g., pulse, GSR)

*Flexibility of software and/or ability to export data for further analysis
with other software

*the opinion of researchers who have had experience with multiple systems

*opinions regarding the importance of sampling rate, given that the data
are typically downsampled for analysis, anyway (as I understand it)

I appreciate any feedback. If this isn't the best place to post this, I
would also appreciate suggestions regarding where to ask this question.

Phil
