[Eeglablist] deleting unused EEG channels

I am importing data into EEGLAB from an ANT EEProbe .CNT file.

I am using a 128 electrode cap for data collection, but only gelling the
first 32. ASA insists (correctly) that the recording has 131 channels
(there are 3 poly channels in addition to the electrode channels), but of
course channels 33+ are flat lines. In ASA I just apply a 32 electrode
montage and I'm in business, but there seems to be no way to apply a montage
in a similar way in EEGLAB.

I would like to delete the extraneous channels. I've tried deleting
channels in the edit channel info dialog, but it won't let me do it . when I
exit I get this Confirmation dialog:

"The number of data channels (32) not including fiducials does not
correspond to the initial number of channels (131), so for consistency
purposes new channel information will be ignored if this function was called
from EEGLAB."

I'm left with the 131 channels.

I've also tried this on the command line:

EEG = pop_chanedit(EEG, 'delete', [33:131] )

But when it returns the EEG structure there are still 131 channels.

Thanks.
