[Eeglablist] problem in importing .asc file

Hai,
 I am Smitha from Kerala, started using EEGLAB tool just now.
 I couldn't open EEG data in .ASC format.I am having practical data for 2 minutes 9 minutes and 40 minutes.I couldn't open any of this.While importing it shows a commend  as follows 
 " eeg_checkset note: upper time limit (xmax) adjusted so
 (xmax-xmin)  *srate+1 = number of frames" 
  If anybody can, please help me
