Subject: Research Assistant Position is Avaialble at the Center for Mind and
Brain at UC Davis

 

 

Position Summary 

Two research assistant positions are available immediately in the laboratory
of Dr. Clifford Saron in the Center for Mind and Brain
(http://mindbrain.ucdavis.edu). The NIH-funded research focuses on using
electrophysiological and behavioral measures to investigate multi-sensory
integration (the combining of information of different sensory modalities
such as touch and hearing) in individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
The work will emphasize advanced biomedical signal processing methods for
EEG regarding data pre-processing, digital filtering, feature selection,
classification, data visualization and analysis using averaged time series
and spectral analyses. Students will be working under the mentorship of
Clifford Saron, PhD in neuroscience, and Iman M.Rezazadeh, PhD in Biomedical
Engineering. 

 

The successful candidate will assist with EEG data collection, MatLab
programming, in addition to processing already collected data and further
developing our analysis pipeline.

This position is suitable for undergraduate or master degree students in
Biomedical Engineering with a background and interest in biosignal
processing or other related fields. 

-Knowledge of one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Matlab,
E-Prime, Python, C/C++, Java, shell scripting, etc.) 

-Undergraduate-level statistics course and/or experience with data analysis

-Organized, independent, diligent, and efficient work ethic  

- Previous experience with neuroimaging and/or electrophysiology (EEG or
ERP) is preferable.
