[Eeglablist] AMICA and maximum likelihood

Hi all,

I have a question about the way AMICA algorithm estimates the independent
sources. This ICA algorithm maximizes the non-Gaussianity of the sources by
maximizing the likelihood, which is equivalent to mutual information
minimization in Infomax ICA algorithm.
My question is that using AMICA algorithm, likelihood of what is maximized?
Is that the maximum likelihood of sources or maximum likelihood of mixed
data?

I really appreciate it if anyone could help me with this.

Regards,
Ali
