Hi Davida,
> I have processed several datasets with EEGLAB tools' "Basic FIR filter (new, default)". I used 0.5Hz lower edge and 50Hz upper edge followed by additional processing such as ICA. I am now preparing to use this data with the SIFT toolbox for the first time. I expect to look at Direct DTF, Partial Coherence, Complex Spectral Density, and probably other things too. Is there an issue with the filtering method not being zero-phase (acausal)?
If you used default settings (i.e. NOT manually selected the "Use minimum phase..." checkbox) the "Basic FIR filter (new, default)" actually implements a zero-phase filter. Did you manually select the "minimum phase" checkbox and why?
Best,
Andreas
