 Dear all, we have a:

*Postdoctoral Position in neuromodulation*

We are seeking a researcher, at postdoctoral level, to pursue an exciting
project in the field of neuromodulation. The project investigates human
physiology of extinction learning and ultimately aims to develop optimized
non invasive brain stimulation protocols potent to normalise extinction
learning abnormalities. The wide combination of methods used in the project are
TMS-EEG (transcranial magnetic stimulation-electroencephalography), EEG,
MRI-EEG (Magnetic Resonance Imaging-encephalography), non invasive brain
stimulation with tACS (alternating current stimulation) and tDCS
(transcranial direct current stimulation) and modelling approaches.

The project forms part of a Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB 1280) “Extinction
Learning” funded by the German Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). The SFB 1280
consists of 19 project groups from the area of Psychology, Medicine,
Neuroinformatics and Biology. Scientists from Leibniz Institute at TU
Dortmund, Ruhr University Bochum, University Duisburg Essen and the
University of Marburg in Germany collaborate. The Principle Investigators
are Prof. Michael Nitsche MD and Dr. Diane Ruge MD PhD. You will join a
busy department (Psychology and Neurosciences at the Leibniz Institute)
with expertise in brain stimulation and neuromodulation. The preferred
candidate should have experience in TMS-EEG, functional Imaging (EEG-fMRI)
and other methods mentioned. The candidate’s background should be in
physics, mathematics, engineering, informatics, psychology or neuroscience.
Excellent programming skills in Matlab are essential.

This is a position paid at level 13 TV-L with many attractive social
benefits. The region of Dortmund is a vivid place in the Ruhr area with a
diverse population, many cultural opportunities and good public transport.
The position is available from 1.7.2017 onwards for 4 years in the first
instance and a probation period of 6 months. Applicants should supply, by
email, a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and contact information of
potential references to Prof. Nitsche and Dr. Ruge (ruge at ifado.de). Women
and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.

Best wishes
Diane
