The Department of Radiology at the University of Calgary is accepting
applications for a post-doctoral fellow to work with Drs. Signe Bray and
Ashley Harris in the area of brain development and developmental disorders.
Drs. Bray and Harris are Assistant Professors in the Department of
Radiology, members of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute
and the Child and Adolescent Imaging Research (CAIR) Program at the
University of Calgary. The CAIR Program has a research-dedicated 3T MR
scanner, MRI-compatible EEG system and a growing program in pediatric
imaging. Drs. Harris and Bray have substantial experience with MR imaging
and spectroscopy and applying these methods to understand development and
developmental disorders. Additionally, they collaborate with experts in
mental health, neuropsychology, neurology, psychology and image science.
The candidate will work with Drs. Bray and Harris on understanding
development of sensory perception in young children, with and without
neurodevelopmental disorders, using EEG, NIRS and MRI. Funding is
guaranteed for 2 years with the possibility of extension.
The PDF will be affiliated with the U of C and the Owerko Centre at the
Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI). The Owerko Centre
is a $10M state-of-the-art research space dedicated to promoting
collaborative neurodevelopmental and mental health research across U of C
and its affiliated hospitals. ACHRI brings together over 180
inter-disciplinary scientists to find new ways of understanding and
treating child behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and physical health.
Applicants should have a background in psychology, neurosciences,
biomedical engineering or a relevant discipline, experience with
neuroimaging and/or pediatric research. Applicants should submit a letter
