[Eeglablist] Two post-doc positions from Jan 2018, University of Manchester, UK: signal processing and clinical neuroscience

Please see below for information on 2 EEG-related grant-funded postdoc positions at the University of Manchester.

TWO post-doctoral research positions are available in signal processing and clinical pain research at the University of Manchester, for 24 months and 10 months:

1. A post-doctoral researcher is needed from 01 Jan 2018 for 24 months who is expert in signal processing funded from a Dunhill Trust award. The candidate will ideally have experience in the processing and extraction of EEG signals, to lead the development and dissemination of novel EEG tomography and neurofeedback methods. The role involves working in a multi-disciplinary environment of clinical and non-clinical scientists and research students and will require teaching and supporting the use of the imaging tools. You will work with Prof Anthony Jones in the Human Pain Research Group on the Salford Royal site and on the University of Manchester site with colleagues in Engineering (Alex Casson) and Cognitive Psychology (Nelson Trujillo-Barreto) who both have extensive signal processing & modelling skills. 2. We wish to appoint a second postdoctoral research associate from 01 Jan 2018 for 10 months funded from an MRC Confidence in Concept award. The candidate must have knowledge and experience in EEG and state-of-the-art signal processing methods (including frequency domain analysis) to investigate how the induction of alpha oscillations in the human brain modulates pain and other aspects of sensory processing. You would be working with Prof Anthony Jones and Dr Jason Taylor (University of Manchester) and Dr Christopher Brown (University of Liverpool). This post would suit an individual who holds or is approaching completion of a PhD in a relevant area of biological sciences (including neuroscience) with experience in human EEG acquisition and analysis, including frequency domain methods. Experience conducting research with chronic pain patients would be an advantage.
