The Warfighter Performance Department at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead a newly funded cognitive neuroscience project at the Thermal Physiology Laboratory. The project focus on assessing cognitive task performance under extreme environmental conditions (cold and hot) through combination of behavioral monitoring and high density mobile EEG recording. Six month funding support for this position has been secured and the position can be filled immediately. Extension for this position is highly possible but contingent upon funding availability. The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. The position will be administered through a third contracting company.
Basic requirements for the position are:
•           Recent PhD or MD/PhD in neurosciences with trainings and experience focused on electrophysiology, behavioral and cognitive neurophysiology, and preferably with strong computational neurosciences background.
•           Extensive hand-on experience on electro-neurophysiology, preferably in EEG recording and human behavioral monitoring.
•           Extensive knowledge and excellent skills in digital signal processing.
•           Basic knowledge of electric engineering.
•           Extensive computer programming skills; MatLab programming is strongly preferable.
•           Strong ability of independently leading a project to progress on time; Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
