A position asPostdoctoral Fellow is available at the Department of Psychology with theresearch group of cognitive neuroscience. The appointment is for a period of 3years. Application deadline: April 30, 2020
About the project

The postdoc will workin the project “Influencing mind-wandering/attentional control withnon-invasive brain stimulation", which has the goal to study thebehavioural and neural effects of non-invasive brain stimulation protocols(repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, rTMS, and transcranial directcurrent stimulation, tDCS) to reduce the frequency of mind-wandering episodesand improve cognitive performance in humans. We plan to delineate the neural characteristicsof spontaneous attentional lapses, and target brain networks underlying poorexecutive control using our novel experimental setup in healthy individuals andadults with symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

The candidate will berequired to contribute to study preparation, participant recruitment, datacollection and analysis (behavioural measures from clinical/neuropsychologicaltests and cognitive tasks, structural and functional MRI, delivering brainstimulation with tDCS and rTMS) and preparation of manuscripts. Because theproject encompasses both experimental and clinical aspects, candidates from awide variety of different backgrounds can be relevant for the position. Thisincludes, but is not limited to, experimental psychologists, clinicalpsychologists or cognitive neuroscientists.
