[Eeglablist] Fwd: Labeling trials prior to epoching

Hi Kaelasha,
Yes, I do this all the time like you by adding a label, but the trick is to
not re-epoch your epochs. Instead, if you want to cut down your epochs, use
pop_select and trim them, or use select epoch or event to get a
sub-selection of your epoched dataset. It's also possible to first put in
additional labels marking the trial number within the EEG.event struct,
epoching will then cause the 'label' to become 'eventlabel' in the epoch
structure and they should propagate.
Alternatively, ERPLAB has convenient possibilities to do this kind of thing.

Hope that helps!
Best,
Michiel Spape

Subject: [Eeglablist] Fwd: Labeling trials prior to epoching

Hi all,

I am sure there must be a simple solution to this, but I can't see it.
Please help!:

*Are epochs marked or labeled in any way so that after removing epochs due
to artifacts or for other reasons, it is still possible to see which
original trials I have left?* If there is no built in label for this, can
one be added?

Eg, If I have 100 trials, but I remove trial 50, 65, and 99 (for example),
is there any way to see that I still have original trials 1:49, 51:64,
66:98, and 100 left?

P.S. I have been adding a label in the EEG.epoch structure (eg as
EEG.epoch(k).label . However when I re epoch down the processing pipeline,
this added label is not propagated into the new EEG structure and the labels
are lost.

My question once again:
Are epochs marked or labeled in any way so that after removing epochs due to
artifacts or for other reasons, it is still possible to see which original
trials I have left?

Any help, much appreciated!

Regards,
Kaelasha
