The Brain and Second Language Research Laboratory at the University of Hong Kong, led by Yoonsang Song, Ph.D., is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral fellow with an interest in neurolinguistic research. The Ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, linguistics, psychology, cognitive science, education, or a related field, and possesses extensive experience in EEG and related methods such as ERP and time-frequency analysis, as well as advanced statistical skills.



This one-year position will commence as soon as possible, with the potential for renewal subject to satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and participate in various research projects related to language processing and acquisition. The position also includes supervising and mentoring doctoral students, research coordinators/assistants, and undergraduate students. The successful candidate will be extensively involved in data processing and analysis, and will also contribute to manuscript preparation and grant writing.



The Brain and Second Language Research Laboratory is a dynamic and collaborative environment, and the postdoctoral fellow will work closely with other members of the research team. Essential qualifications:

*      Doctoral degree in neuroscience, linguistics, psychology, cognitive science, education or a related field

*      Excellent research skills

*      Considerable experience with ERP and time-frequency analysis

*      Strong coding skills in Matlab (and other languages)

*      Highly proficient in  statistical analysis skills

*      Published EEG studies in refereed journals, preferably as a first author

*      Strong written and interpersonal communication skills in English

Advantageous qualifications:

*      Experience in researching language processing and acquisition

*      Experience in grant writing

*      Experience in machine learning
