Hello,
Is it possible to share this following message with the community ?
Thank you !

Dear all,
PhD or Post-doctoral position are available:
The Quebec Pharmacology Research Group is looking for two motivated students to join the team.

*At the Université de Montréal: French-speaking university, mastery of the French language (spoken and written; 3/5) is required.
*Veterinary sciences - pharmacology option
*From May 2024 (flexible): minimum duration of 3 years for the Ph.D. and 16 to 20 months for the Post-doctoral fellowship.
*Key words: pain, osteoarthritis, quantitative sensory testing, electrodiagnosis, sensitization.

*Project description: pain characterization in various diseases affecting dogs and cats. Funding secured - GREPAQ is affiliated with several departments of the Université de Montréal and McGill University, including Neurosciences, Rheumatology, Veterinary Pathology & Microbiology, Veterinary Clinical Sciences, providing resources in various platforms of molecular biology, imaging, neurocognition and animal behavior. Our environment represents a rich venue for cutting-edge training in neuroscience, pharmacology and biomedical sciences.

*Experimental approaches: this project requires the use of neurophysiological, biomechanical and animal behavioral techniques. Successful candidates will participate in studies on natural animal models of pain in the pathology of osteoarthritis, atopic dermatitis and sensory perception, and will hone their expertise in animal manipulation and pain phenotype assessment using the most innovative methods in the field.

*Qualifications required: two self-motivated graduate students with good laboratory experience. Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree with knowledge of cellular and molecular biology and/or biochemistry and/or biological sciences and/or pharmacology (or any other related field). Experience in handling laboratory animals would be an asset, but is not essential. Veterinary training is an asset, and support for a short M.Sc./Ph.D. program is possible. Good teamwork skills are a must.

*International students from France, Belgium and Switzerland are more likely to arrive on time, given the current delays with Canada Immigration.

*How to apply: applicants should submit their curriculum vitae with a covering letter and university transcripts, as well as the contact details of two people who may be called upon to provide letters of recommendation - eric.troncy at umontreal.ca
