Dear EEGLAB Community,
I’m a new user still learning the ins and outs of EEGLAB and appreciate any
guidance you can offer.
For simplicity, I’ve been analyzing my EEG data using a 19-channel setup,
but I would now like to expand to the full dataset from my cap. I’m using
the *32-channel Quik-Cap NEO Net* from Compumedics Neuroscan (details here:
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://compumedicsneuroscan.com/product/32-channels-quik-cap-neo-net-synamps-2-rt-and-neuvo/__;!!Mih3wA!GiM2D-LfsHPWWusAqXI-WEluo8Cz3wCLypsFNKppe1oKcK4H8GanJedWwZM_1712dirZZagJsRcSgFp6lxlZ$
).
When I import my EDF files into EEGLAB, I see *35 total channels*, of which *5
are non-EEG* (e.g., auxiliary or reference channels). The challenge I'm
facing is locating or creating the correct *channel location file* to match
this cap configuration.
Compumedics/Neuroscan support advised the following:
*"You can choose both .asc or .dat, one for 2D plot, the other for 3D plot.
These are Cartesian polar coordinate text files used to define electrode
positions."*
Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate suitable .asc or .dat files, or
determine the correct settings within EEGLAB’s interface to properly load
them.
A few additional details:
-
I believe I need to use the *MNI coordinate system*, as I plan to use
*DIPFIT* later on.
-
The main area of confusion lies in the *"Edit → Channel Locations"*
menu, particularly the *“Read locations”* field. I’m unsure if
additional parameters in this dialog box need to be adjusted to work with
these files. (see screenshots below)
Although Compumedics/Neuroscan may not be the most common system among
U.S.-based researchers, I’m hopeful that someone in the community has
experience with this setup or can point me to compatible location files.
Any insight or examples would be greatly appreciated.
