[Eeglablist] LabStreamingLayer (LSL) Reference Paper Now Published in Imaging Neuroscience

Dear EEGLAB Community,

We are pleased to announce that after more than a decade of widespread adoption, LabStreamingLayer (LSL) now has an official reference paper published in Imaging Neuroscience.

LSL, developed at the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience and maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers around the world, has become the cornerstone for Mobile Brain/Body Imaging (MoBI) research and multimodal recording setups. This open-source framework enables real-time synchronization and streaming of biosignals across diverse hardware and software platforms, supporting over 150 instruments to date.

The paper provides an overview of LSL's architecture, performance benchmarks, and best-practice recommendations for implementation, including guidance on measuring hardware delays that cannot be captured through software alone.
