Dear all,

In December 2025 (Dec 04-06.) we will host the newly established conference "Integrating movements in neuroscientific investigations (I-MOVE; https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://imove2025.org/__;!!Mih3wA!DzDTxT0E60mFSR39QxyZvy7Lv2bz0NipO-8iP49fZtfwZyHrZuVpAsdQ1-4aXQ_AQYJ6xMmaZrzzTCOT9tTX4onPzx0btX6fy6nqDdU$ )" at the University of Lübeck. The submission deadline for abstracts for posters and short talks is the 1st of October 2025.

Short event description
The human brain is part of a movable body. Cognitive Neuroscience has traditionally considered bodily movements a confound, with largely unknown effects on and interactions with neural activity. I-MOVE will promote exchange between international scientists, methods experts, and researchers of all career levels on the use of movement recordings as an asset in explaining variability in brain activity.
The conference is thought to set the stage to form a larger network of scientists working on neuroscientific investigations in close-to-real-life scenarios, including the investigation of various kinds of natural body movements.

The scientific program will include the following:

Keynotes
Freek van Ede, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
The interlocking of micro eye- and head-movements with internal attention and working memory

Marlene Meyer, Donders Institute
Babies on the move: How to deal with movements in infant EEG research?

Giacomo Novembre, Italian Institute of Technology
Integrating Movement into the Neuroscience of Music and Social Interaction

Hands-on sessions
Julius Welzel, Kiel University
Organization of neurophysiological and motion data for open and reproducible science

Martin Bleichner & Melanie Klapprott, University of Oldenburg
The do’s and don'ts of multimodal data acquisition in everyday life

Guided tour of motion laboratories, Fraunhofer IMTE
Anne Katrin Brust & Gerrit Bücken

Short talks
TBA

The conference will take place at the Center of Brain, Behavior and Metabolism at the University of Lübeck.
At the time of the conference, Lübeck also holds a quite pittoresque German christmas market.

We very much look forward to welcoming you in Lübeck!

The organizing committee: Malte Wöstmann, Sarah Jessen, Marcus Heldmann, Lisa Kunkel-Bode
