The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for full-time
faculty positions in Psychology. We seek applications from an early-career
scholar for a tenure-track assistant professor position. Candidates should
demonstrate strong potential for developing an independent research
program. We also welcome applications from established scholars (Associate
or Full Professor), who have a demonstrated record of excellence in
research and leadership in the field.
We particularly encourage candidates working in any area of Perception,
Cognition, and Cognitive Development and candidates working in any area of
Social Psychology, including those adopting a developmental perspective in
their approach.
We seek scholars whose research intersects with and/or cuts across existing
faculty domains of interest. Current strengths in the Psychology Program at
NYU Abu Dhabi include the study of vision, memory, language, political
psychology, inequality, gender, early childhood development, and attachment
and identity throughout the lifespan.
Successful candidates will find a vibrant research and teaching environment
that includes supportive and highly motivated colleagues, access to
significant research resources, and broad opportunities for
interdisciplinary research. Faculty will have opportunities to collaborate
across NYU’s global campus network.
Research Facilities: Successful candidates will have access to a faculty
research grant including personnel lines, in addition to state-of-the-art
facilities including: (1) An imaging center housing a Siemens Prisma 3T MRI
scanner and two MEG systems (SQUID and OPM), with support for multimodal
data acquisition (MEG+EEG+eyetracking; fMRI+EEG) and dedicated technical
staff, in addition to integration with a High Performance Computing
facility with more than 6,400 computing cores, (2) Behavioral testing
facilities equipped with standalone EEGs, eye-tracking, virtual reality,
physiological measures (GSR, heart rate, etc...), and robotics, and social
psychology experimental rooms; (3) State-of-the-art Child Observation Lab
equipped with video and audio recording technology, a one-way observation
window, and a connected control room.
