Hi all,
Thanks to everyone for organising and running the talk. Time zone issues
prevented me from attending, but I like the directions for the proposed
projects.
I'm happy to help out with a potential mechanism paper and the additive vs.
multiplicative paper.
My sense is that, despite a lot of initial optimism, a nice, clean-ish
mechanism will be elusive or very context-specific (perhaps some task-based
shifts are due to E:I balance, while age and pathology-related differences
have some other mechanism). That said, even if there isn't a single
mechanism like E:I balance, the systematic variation and slope and related
measures we're seeing across a range of contexts still poses a significant
challenge for any measure that ignores the broadband.
Doug
