Working memory

In this experiment, subjects were motivated by a monatery incentive and given performance feedback on each trial. We were interested in the cognitive effects of postive vs negative reinforcement. The subjective experience of each trial depends on the current context (i.e. if the current trial was incorrect, was the last trial also wrong? Or were the last 3 wrong? Perhaps this is the first incorrect trial following a long stretch of correct responses...).

Because of the remarkable variability in possible behavioral contexts, we have developed a method of joint time/frequency and context decomposition of the data to reveal spectral modulations specifically linked to particular behavioral situations.
