*MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit – Cambridge, UK.*

*Postdoctoral Scientist (Ref CBSU08/733) and Research Assistant (Ref
CBSU08/734) – 3 years*

The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBSU) is an internationally
renowned research institute with state-of-the-art cognitive neuroscience
facilities, including 3T fMRI, 306 channel MEG (with simultaneous 128
channel EEG), and separate high resolution EEG systems for volunteer and
patient work. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scientist and
a research assistant to join an existing team exploring cognitive
function in brain injured patients. Both appointments will be for 3 years.

For the postdoctoral scientist position you will have a PhD or other
qualifying degree in Cognitive Neuroscience or a related area with a
proven track record of using high-resolution EEG. Experience of
quantitative EEG analysis, including EEGLAB is essential. Experience of
working with brain injured people is preferable, and a track record of
research in short-term memory, selective attention, frontal or parietal
function would also be advantageous. Behavioural testing, FMRI, or MEG
experience would be useful, as would the ability to computer program.

For the research assistant position you will have a degree in Cognitive
Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology or a related area. You should have
an interest in neurorehabilitation and ideally some experience of
behavioural testing, FMRI or EEG.

Both positions require an understanding of the principles of
experimental design, data acquisition and analysis. The successful
candidates will be enthusiastic, well motivated, well organised and have
good interpersonal skills, able to work effectively both independently
and in a team.

We offer a flexible pay and reward policy, 30 days annual leave
entitlement, and an optional MRC final salary Pension Scheme. On site
car and bicycle parking is available.

Applications for these roles must now be made online at
