Timing will likely be an issue. I would suggest something like the
following which can be configured with a parallel port. This is what we
use for a portable system running Eprime.

you can purchase a USB to parallel port adapter/cable/converter that
hopefully will not add too much latency

In our EEG system we`re sending TTL codes through the parallel port of the
display PC which are recorded in a separate EEG channel. These codes are
used in order to synchronize the EEG data with the stimuli. Since this is
a mobile system, we`re using a laptop in order to present the stimuli.
Recently, we had to replace our laptop but couldn`t find any new laptops
with built-in parallel port.
I know that it is a bit out of the scope of this mailing list - but I was
wondering if anyone has experience with this issue.
