the MSUPE Center for Neuro-cognitive Studies (MEG

http://www.megmoscow.ru/) announces a post-doctoral position for 10 months
in one of the following research areas:

1. Brain mechanisms of acquisition of lexical semantics on the example of
action words (MEG study in adults).

2. Brain mechanisms of spontaneous attentional lapses, caused by
mind-wandering (EEG and/or MEG study in adults).

Both studies are aiming at understanding early preattentive subconscious
brain mechanisms of data processing on the way through perception and
decision making. This aim is pursued by way of studying time-course of
brain activity under several specially designed attentional tasks,
involving learning of a set of task rules.

HSE is offering a competitive salary and a reasonable research-related
support, primarily for travel (details upon request). In addition, the
compensation package for a HSE postdoctoral fellow will include one
roundtrip flight (economy class), health insurance, accommodation at the
HSE professor’s guesthouse, and administrative support. The fellowships
will normally last from September 1, 2013 until the end of June 2014.

 *Requirements:*

Candidates should have (1) publications in English in international
peer-reviewed journals, (2) Ph.D. in the fields of psychophysiology,
neurobiology or related areas, and (3) expertise and skills in EEG/MEG
analysis, (4) familiarity with at least some of commonly used EEG/MEG data
analysis software such as EEGLAB, ERPLAB, SPM8, Brainstorm etc. Fluency in
Russian is not necessary although basic proficiency in Russian would be
helpful.
