Hi Kiran,

I'm not a sleep expert, but I think you can find a lot of relevant
information from a literature review. Just searching Google Scholar and
Wikipedia for terms like "stages of sleep" and "brainwaves during stages of
sleep", I found several links which may be relevant:

http://psycnet.apa.org/journals/xge/21/2/127/
http://books.google.com/books?id=IorPrIY6dOYC&lpg=PA
http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/brain_basics/understanding_sleep.htm
http://web.mst.edu/~psyworld/sleep_stages.htm

Good luck,
Steve
