Hello Caroline,

here's a few quick points below that should get you through.

One thing to do is take seem of the example files of channel locations
available on the EEGLAB Channel Locations files page (just search on
Google).
Then make sure that the file you are trying to load is formatted and
organized the same way,
or that the channel locations file you find matches the EEG collection
system you used.

In particular, when you do your Google search, find the links for the
following pages
which come up first in a search for "eeglab list" and "locations". You can
also
just search on google for the specific text on each of the four lines below:

EEGLAB: EEG channel location files [Eeglablist] electrode location
 coordinates
Channel Location Files - SCCN
A03: Importing Channel Locations - SCCN [part of eeglab tutorial]

If you are using a data collection system from an established EEG system
vendor
such as EGI or Biosemi, then you should have a working channel location
files for the net that was used, and these can usually be imported into
EEGLAB
with no problem via the Channel Locations GUI.You should not have to
create your own locations file.

If you have not done this kind of processing before, please check the
EEGLAB tutorial
to get a better handle on how to load, manipulate, and format channel
locations.

Let me know if this helps. You can also search on the eeglab list archives
for previous messages about loading up or formatting channel location files.
Just search on google for "EEGLAB list" and your keywords of choice (i.e.,
channel locations).

Alternatively, you could enter the positions one at a time via the Channel
Locations
GUI, but I would not suggest it.

All the best,
