Hi, Stephen:

Thank you so much. I tried your method, it works!
First, I used
>> restoredefaultpath
Then add eeglab and brainstorm again, they both works. And then
>> addpath C:\fieldtrip-20151206
And I can run ft_defaults without error or warnings. ☺

Thank you,
Best,

Xianghong

Hi Xianghong,
I suspect you can ignore this error (fieldtrip has several name conflicts like this in it, but for me at least they haven't caused anything to break). As for how to get rid of it...
I'm not sure, but I have both EEGLAB and Fieldtrip and I'm not getting this warning. Could this be a problem with your path? Note that it's best not to put the fieldtrip subdirectories on your path (http://www.fieldtriptoolbox.org/faq/should_i_add_fieldtrip_with_all_subdirectories_to_my_matlab_path), and this looks similar to warnings I have seen with that kind of situation. I'm not sure, but it's worth trying; maybe if you restore your default path and then run EEGLAB without putting fieldtrip on the path (or only putting the main fieldtrip folder and not the subfolders) it might get rid of this warning?
Best,
Steve

Hi, all:

I could run eeglab in this computer before. Just try to install fieldtrip. Then when I run the eeglab, the warning appears:
Warning: Function iscolumn has the same name as a MATLAB builtin. We suggest you rename the function
to avoid a potential name conflict.

  In addpath at 86
  In eeglab>addpathifnotinlist at 2012
  In eeglab at 230
  In eeglab at 1046
......

Is there a way to avoid this?
Thank you,
Best,

Xianghong
