The research group KU Leuven ESAT-STADIUS is currently offering a
postdoctoral position (2 years with possibility for extension) within
the framework of an interdisciplinary project on epileptic seizure
detection using a wearable EEG+PPG device. The goal is to create a
prototype of a wearable seizure detection system which can give epilepsy
patients better control in their daily life. The system will offer
real-time seizure detection to alert the patient and the caretaker. The
objective is to offer personalized solutions and algorithms allowing
adaptive and patient-specific detection starting from synchronized
acquisitions of brain and cardiorespiratory activity.
The research project is conducted in strong collaboration with the
University Hospital Leuven, industrial partners and other academic
partners within Flanders and abroad.
PROFILE
We are seeking candidates with a PhD degree in information technology,
electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or machine learning and
with solid relevant expertise in advanced data analytics for patient
monitoring. Additional skills in leadership and project coordination are
an advantage. A solid biomedical data processing background is
essential. Candidates must be fluent in English.
Interested candidates can apply for this position through the KU Leuven
online application tool by uploading a detailed CV, including a
motivation letter and names of references (see link at
