> Arno, if you advocate keeping the data in single precision you may want to note that the pop_loadset function converts the data to double if two files do exist (fdt/set). This still seems inconsistent to me, I apologize in advance if I am wrong.

The data is not loaded directly in the pop_loadset() function. It is loaded in the eeg_getdatact() function line 221-235 in single precision.
