Hi Jumana,
It does look like there is a compatibility issue with the binary and your work machine. I think it works under Windows 8 and Windows 10, but one possibility is that your work machine is 32 bit, and not 64 bit? The binary requires 64 bit architecture. If it is 64 bit, then there may be something about Windows 8, or some other incompatibility in the processor. Do you know which processor it is? AMD or Intel?
Best,
Jason

The IT department think it is because I am using windows 8. Could this be correct?
Thanks,

Hi and thanks for your reply,
I actually downloaded the binary files recently from the website into the systems 32 folder. I use a windows computer. I'm concerned that as it's a work computer that it could be an access issue as the administrator had to help me save the files there- I do not have higher level administrator rights over the systems 32 folder. Is there anywhere else I can save the binary files?
Apart from adding the binary files and setting the matlab path to the new amica folder, is there anything else that I should be doing?
Best wishes,
Jumana

Jumana
We had the same problem. We updated the binary files found on https://sccn.ucsd.edu/~jason/amica_web.html<https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https:%2F%2Fsccn.ucsd.edu%2F~jason%2Famica_web.html&data=01%7C01%7Cjumana.ahmad%40kcl.ac.uk%7Cab8681cfd95449b185c708d450557d4e%7C8370cf1416f34c16b83c724071654356%7C0&sdata=d5QcgfjVWZsuZUAKgYXHAlyANTr2Af10yhtDp47LQAQ%3D&reserved=0>
While this seems to be a simple fix: the file path must not include spaces. It corrected this problem and ran.

Dear Jumana,
The variable AMBIN is set by checking whether the binary file is in the directory where the runamica15.m file is. Are you sure you have the amica15mkl.exe file in the amica1.5 plugin directory or whichever directory you have the runamica15.m file in?
Best,
Jason

Dear all,
I have the following error when setting up AMICA:
Undefined function or variable 'AMBIN'.
Error in runamica15 (line 867)
system([AMBIN ' ' outdir 'input.param']);
Error in ICA2_AMICA (line 112)
runamica15(data.data, 'num_chans', data.nbchan,...
I set it up fine on my personal PC, but my work PC is giving this error.
Could it be due to the windows32 folder access where I saved the binary files?
Best wishes,
Jumana
