Hello, some notes below

it depends on density of your eeg electrodes.
A rule of thumb is 32 channels or below use mastoid reference,
and 64 channels and up use average reference.
You can also examine recent rereferencing schemes in the literature that go
"beyond" average reference.
See also articles that compare ICA or EEG results with different
referencing schemes.
I recommend finding recent published articles in high-end journals that
used an eeg montage similar to yours,
and use the referencing scheme they used.
Please google past eeglablist discussions/comments on similar referencing
and rereferencing topics.
